At Finn Lough, we are delighted to announce the return of Lasair, our reimagined restaurant. Set in the very space where our culinary journey first began, Lasair (meaning ‘flame’ in Irish) is now led by an exceptional all-female kitchen team, with Head Chef Kristin Reagon and Restaurant Manager Marion Falk at the helm.
Nestled above the Main House, Lasair offers an elevated yet welcoming dining experience. The space blends earthy interiors with contemporary elegance—natural light floods the room, highlighting warm wooden accents, a cosy fireplace, and a spacious conservatory that overlooks our tranquil surroundings, including our much-anticipated new spa, set to open this year.
Lasair’s story is woven into the fabric of Finn Lough. Our restaurant was previously housed in The Barn, a beloved dining space known for its communal atmosphere, lofty workshop ceilings, and rustic charm. With the opening of Lasair, The Barn has been transformed into a versatile venue, hosting business gatherings, yoga retreats, and intimate weddings - an evolution that allows us to embrace new experiences while honoring our roots.
Our menu is designed to celebrate five key flavor profiles—sweet, salty, umami, acidic, and floral—offering a selection of Irish small plates perfect for sharing. We champion the finest locally sourced ingredients, with vegan and vegetarian options thoughtfully crafted to showcase the same level of creativity and detail.
Guests can savor dishes like Lamb Ssam (lamb rump, pickles, romesco, crispy onion) or BBQ Monkfish (paprika cured, saffron chermoula, cashew & coconut crumb). For those with a sweet tooth, indulgent treats such as Brûlée Banana (tonka banana foam, hazelnut crumb, chocolate crémeux) and Orange & Olive Oil Cake (ginger ice cream, shortbread crumb, rosemary-roasted white chocolate) await.
Just downstairs, the Main House invites guests to extend their evening in our library bar. Whether enjoying an aperitif, sipping on a Stout Negroni or Turkish Delight Bramble, playing card games by the fire, or winding down with a whiskey tasting and a movie in our private cinema, the experience is designed to be one of warmth and connection.
“At Lasair, we want our guests to feel connected - to nature, to great food, and to one another,” shares Head Chef Kristin Reagon. “As a female-led team, we take immense pride in creating an experience that is both nurturing and exciting, where every dish tells a story and every moment feels special.”
For Finn Lough owner Gillian Beare, the revival of Lasair is deeply personal. “I grew up here, and this part of the resort holds some of my fondest childhood memories. To see it come to life again in such a meaningful way is incredibly special,” she says. “I’m so proud of Kristin, Marion, and our entire team for pouring their passion into this space. Lasair is a true celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and connection.”
Lasair is now open to guests of Finn Lough, with reservations for non-residents available in the coming weeks. To book, please contact us at 02868380360.
We look forward to welcoming you to Lasair, where every meal is a moment to remember.
